About

Ames Dog Park is the City of Ames' 10-acre off-leash facility on Billy Sunday Road in Ames, Iowa, tucked behind the city's animal shelter off South Duff Avenue. The park splits into a 2-acre area for dogs under 25 pounds and an 8-acre stretch for larger dogs, with drinking fountains and off-street parking on site. Owners use a Facility Use Permit Tag, issued with a current rabies vaccination on file, and the turf gets a yearly maintenance rest during the third week of September.
