About

Capitol Park Dog Park is a fenced off-leash area in the heart of downtown Detroit, Michigan, at 150 State St within the Capitol Park Historic District. The park offers separate sections for small and large dogs with room to run, play, and socialize, managed by the Downtown Detroit Partnership. Capitol Park officially reopened in July 2025 after a renovation that refreshed the dog park alongside new lawns, gardens, and landscaping.
